Last week our club was privileged to have as our speaker via ZOOM,  CAROL FERGUSON, founder of The Pennsylvania Polio Survivors Network. She is a member of the Doylestown Rotary Club, and is a Polio survivor , having contracted the disease as a child. Although the symptoms were mild at the time, Polio came back at her much stronger later in life as it is an illness that dose;t spike you once, but twice. The Network she helped establish, so that survivors could share their optimism with other Polio survivors and pass on their experiences in dealing with a terrible disease to COVID-19 patients who have become hospitalized.
She got involved with Rotary's Polio eradication effort and has worked with the Polio Foundation and Rotary's POLIO PLUS efforts to vaccinate the whole world against this terrible disease.
They continually stress that vaccines stop the very preventable illness.

Thank-you Carol for bringing your story to our Club.
