Last week the Club welcomed MAATI YVONNE PLATTS founder of  Restorative Norristown, to speck to us about the activities and goals on the organization. Maati related how she saw a need in our community to help youth who are caught up in the justice system and are mired in conflicts. She assists these individuals thru the use of restorative practices at their facilities, community institutions, and the schools to help create environments where conflicts can be resolved peacefully. The conflicts often prevent youth from reintegrating in to society after being involved with the criminal justice system, and it is one of the main goals of Restorative Norristown to break the school to prison path that is present in too many young lives. 

    The staff undergoes training on the restorative circle technique of conflict resolution that gives the youths the skills to deal successfully with society.
