Hi Folks,
Please read below about a GREAT opportunity for Rotarians of Montgomery County to volunteer to help our county with Vaccination sites that are being set up...
Please send out to all the Rotarians in your club as soon as possible. For those club members that want to assist our county with vaccination sites, have them sign into the link below for registering with the Montgomery County Medical Reserve Corps.

Our public health officials are reaching out... let's show them that Rotarians are #PeopleofAction !

We appreciate our Rotarian in Bucks County, Carol Ferguson for passing this on to us. Carol is an active Rotarian, a polio survivor and a member, Bucks County Immunization Coalition.

Be Well and Be Safe

Hi Ron.
    I pray you are well.
I realized that many of your Clubs are in both Bucks and Montgomery Counties.
Here's something we can all be a part of -
The Bucks and Montgomery County Departments of Health has asked for our help.
In the very near future, our Counties will be opening mass Vaccination sites.  They can't do this alone.
They need 300 volunteers (in each county) to make it happen.   You may have seen in the paper and elsewhere that they are "only" looking for health care professionals.  That is NOT the case.
To Volunteer in Bucks County:
  • Please fill out this questionnaire to register as a volunteer as soon as possible.   Note:  Safety is their first priority.  Every volunteer is being vetted so you will not hear back re: specific job opportunities right away.
  • Feel free to share this information with your Bucks County family and friends - but, please DO NOT post on Social Media.
To Volunteer in Montgomery County:
  • We would be happy to have you join the Montgomery County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC). Both medical and non-medical volunteers can serve through the MRC for Montgomery County’s COVID volunteer response. To register for the MRC, go to the ServPA website, https://serv.pa.gov

  • Once your profile is complete, you will receive a notification that your ServPA registration is complete. The Montgomery County MRC has a COVID-19 task force group that MRC members will join to help support with COVID-19 requests. Being a part of the MRC COVID-19 task force group will allow all members to receive COVID-19 volunteer specific requests.

In December, Rotary International published a "Call to Action" regarding vaccines.  This is the perfect opportunity to serve.
Let's do what WE can to help our Departments of Health get these Vaccination Centers open.

I've had the opportunity to speak to a few of your Clubs and it's been such fun.  Given this call to action, we (PA Polio Survivors Network) would love the opportunity to speak to more of your Clubs re:  Vaccines Work!  Rotary's Focus on Disease Prevention.

Yours in service,
Carol Ferguson,
Rotary Club of Doylestown
Member, Bucks County Immunization Coalition

PLANNING HAS STARTED ON THE CELEBRATION OF THE 100th ANNIVERSARY
FOR THE  ROTARY CLUB OF NORRISTOWN.
If you would like to join the committee , let Judy know. The actual charter date would be May 1, but we are currently considering a gathering in September.
Look for further information in the near future.

                      LOOKING FOR THE CLUB CALENDAR?
Dave Shoemaker has made it easy to find

I have switched the calendar page in our website to show the google calendar for "norristownrotary.org".

There has been some confusion over calendars in the past. From now on, the google calendar is the only one. I have told Sunanda about the change. She only needs to edit one calendar.  ( although the future is rather empty at the moment, different issue ).

No one is required to login to clubrunner to see this. They just search for or go to "norristownrotary.org" and click on the calendar page. Editing the thing requires logging into the club's google account.

JIM NUTT is leading a project to gage the interest in purchasing new NORRISTOWN ROTARY shirts for the upcoming season. Please look at the link below, check out the Rotary clothing section, and see if there are any shirts that you would consider purchasing.

Then email Jim with you interest.

Zoo Trolley Ready
Locally - Zoo Trolley Ready to Roll

Stan Huskey tells us the reconditioned Elmwood Park Zoo trolley is almost ready to pickup and move it to the Zoo. He will be driving it home. It will connect the Zoo with the Centre Theater downtown on Dekalb St. as well as several other popular stops, coming in 2021. In order to expedite completion, the newest plan converted the trolley to a road wheeled vehicle initially, this will allow some flexibility in making various stops.  Ultimately, we hear it will ride on the CSX rails near the Zoom.  It's a pretty bright red. Maybe they will name it?  Wouldn't something like the 'Norristown Eagle' sound awesome ?
