Yard Sale — Let’s Make Treasure Hunting Fun!

Spring cleaning = treasure waiting to be found! If your closets, basements, or garages are bursting with goodies you no longer need, don’t toss — turn them into fun (and fundraising)!
What’s happening....On September 19 we’ll be at the Lower Providence Community Yard Sale from 8:00 AM–2:00 PM.
Diane Helm will collect gently used, re-sellable items at a Rotary Table to raise funds for the Club.
How to help.....Bring your donations to any Rotary meeting by September 10.
Want to join the fun on the day? Sign up for a 2-hour shift to chat with shoppers. Share what the Norristown Rotary does, and help sell great finds.
Why join....Clear clutter, earn smiles, and support the Club — plus hunting for bargains is half the fun!
We already have several Rotary members living in Lower Providence, and we’d love more hands and friendly faces.
Questions or want to sign up? Contact Diane or show up at a meeting with your donations by September 10. See you at the sale — let’s make it a community party!

PAMELA  KELLY - Montgomery Cty Fouindation

This week Pam Kelly the new president/CEO of the Montgomery County Foundation visit ed the club.  Pam stressed the mission of the foundation, connecting people in Montgomery County. The foundation was formed in the early 1960's by community members concerned about the region's philanthropic needs.  One of their keystone programs is the Benjamin Franklin Fund. This fund was started by Benjamin Franklin to help the people in the cities of Boston and Philadelphia and still functions today. The foundation has a strong focus on Families and children and continuing education. The foundation assists primarily through grants to numerous non-profit organizations who serve the region.  They also make numerous continuing education scholarships with the local school district helping senior student further their education.

The foundation 3 primary goals as described by Pam are:
  • to become more connected to nonprofit organizations
  • to  make philanthropy more accessible to individuals
  • serve as a community connection and hub where people can seek assistance
They are planning an event on September 30th at Presidential caterers with the theme, "Building on Our Legacy'. As part of the event they will celebrate the retirement of past president Virginia Frantz who served many years as President/CEO.
