Thursday March 20, the Club welcomed NIKKI KRELOVICH - Executive Director, The ARC Alliance, who spoke about ARC's mission of supporting individuals of all ages with developmental and other disabilities and their families , inspiring hope, well being , and ensuring valued life experiences.  ARC has helped over 60,000 people in the S.E. Pa area since its origination in 1961, offering much needed early intervention with therapy in speech, physical wellbeing, and social adapting,  Their main focus. has been on those with Autism but is expanded to include individuals with other disabling afflictions.
Their empowerment programs center on three main areas: Early intervention, Support Coordination and Guardianship. The support starts at birth and continues through high school, and even after as they offer assistance in finding other support services and employment opportunities. Although they can't appoint guardianships, they do help parents by making sure they have necessary information for assistance.
Nikki stressed the benefits of hiring individuals with disabilities which include: improving profitability, discovering untapped potential, reducing turnover, reducing absenteeism, and increasing productivity.  Public awareness is essential in improving the lives of the afflicted.
