Travis Geiser and Dan Weckerle from the VALLEY FORGE TOURISM AND CONVENTION BOARD, visited the Club and informed the members on the workings of the Tourism Board, and the many Montco promotional activities they are involved in. Travis, Sports Sales Manager, spoke of the various sports related opportunities that he investigates, attends, and then promotes the facilities of Montgomery County. He works to bring here,  sporting events such as tournaments, and conventions. Recent examples are the USA Jr. weight lifting championship, PGA events, and Olympic trials. The Board, an non-governmental, not-for-profit organization sustains and supports a $1.5 billion county tourism business . 
Dan, Communications Manager, related how sports is only one part of the Board's promotion work. They present information on hotels, restaurants, parks, and events to prospective groups looking for meeting locations. They succeeded in attracting 27 state delegations to stay in Montco during the recent DNC, the largest grouping outside of Philadelphia. Promotions include: shopping, Adventures like zip-line and hot air ballooning,  dinning guide, and the availability of several social media outlets to promote local events.
