CLUB BROCHURE REDESIGN IN PROGRESS

We are redesigning the club brochures as it is time to reorder.

We are targeting Q4 for completion as it will have many enhancements with new projects.

Our brochure needs to reflect the things we do for the community.

We plan to modernize it with a QR code to an online club membership application.

If you have ideas, suggestions or stories, please reach out to Mark ASAP so we can incorporate them.

NEW the 'Service Project Committee'

The club has officially formed a new committee with the special focus of seeking out, identifying, communicating and organizing club service opportunities in the community.

Our goal is to assist our community partners while insuring a steady stream of volunteer opportunities for our 'Club Members' and our 'Friends of the Club' network and engage our resources to the maximum.  The committee will network with our local business partners and community organizations and other Rotary Clubs to form alliances in achieving the goals of both our partners and Rotary.

If you have an upcoming event, serving the community and you need volunteers, we are a resource. Call us 484 994-2349.

The committee will be chaired by Mark Call and initial membership includes Sunanda Charles, Jim Williams and Kelly Richardson.

If you have an idea for a beneficial project, please contact someone on the committee so that we may capture it. If you would like to be part of this new committee, please see Mark.

Stay tuned as you will see much publicity, communication and goals around this committee and the service they provide. It will be a busy Fall and Winter.

BEV WEINBERG - INTEGRATE FOR GOOD

Our meeting on August 18 featured BEV WEINBERG, Executive Director of Integrate for Good, who spoke of the wide-ranging programs that the organization offers to our community. Their image of creating a community of young people where strengths and contributions of those with diverse abilities are realized and captured, especially in the post-high school years where assistance in the transitioning to a useful place in the work environment is so crucial. Although their programs are open to all with neurological difficulties, they mostly work with youth with autism, Downs syndrome, and non-verbal impairments. These goals are accomplished through 4 main programs: The Empowerment Lab-  showing the way to a brighter future after high school; Opening Doors on Campus- working with colleges to make a meaningful place for students with disabilities, They currently work with 5 local colleges); Leadership Incubator- taking Integrate for Good's concepts out to the community encourage institutions to plan for further integration of the disabled; Corporate Engagement- working with local companies to embrace their programs and to partner with them.

For further information and details on how to get involved, visit their website at:  https://integrateforgood.org

Thank you, Bev for bringing your story to us.

EACH ONE, BRING ONE Member Campaign Underway
EACH ONE, BRING ONE

President Sunanda has officially kicked off the  'Each One, Bring One'  member campaign.

Rotary Clubs need to continue to grow in order to enhance our ability to dedicate resources to solving a community or global issue.

This year, President Sunanda is asking every Club member to bring a visitor, spouse, family, friend or acquaintance to our meeting and introduce them to Rotary.

If everyone brought a guest it would double our meeting size, and if half of the visitors discovered Rotary and became a member, the club would grow by 50%.

Please think about it this week and identify someone you would like to introduce to Rotary. Bring them to a meeting and tell them why you joined.

Who will you bring ?

- USEFUL TIPS -

Technical Tip: Keep my gmail out of promotions
        But, It's NOT Spam.

Is some of your expected gmail missing from the Inbox?

Aside from regular spam filtering, sometimes Google also takes  a guess at your incoming gmail and pre-categorizes it in order to cut down on spam. The Tabs 'Social' and 'Promotions' capture some of your email instead.
Well, Google doesn't always get it right.

Fortunately, even though that is the default setting, you can change the setting and control your pre-categorization completely and get all your mail back in the old inbox.
YOU can select select the problem email in 'Promotions' and drag it to the inbox,  OR....
A more reliable way is to control your own categories  or  simply have none at all.  If you uncheck the 'Social" and 'Promotions' categories in settings, your future email will not appear in those virtual folders but rather in your old inbox as expected.

Here's what you do to fix it.
Go to your inbox settings link. https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#settings/inbox
Uncheck the boxes 'Social' and 'Promotions', AND CLICK SAVE
From now on it will appear in the old inbox as expected.
