DAY OF SERVICE  2022

Rotary actually celebrates service 365 days, each year.  But this year our District 7430 focused a service day April 30th on our new Rotary focus, "Supporting the Environment".
Our club, along with many others hosted service projects aimed at the new focus.  President Scott, suggested, since this special day was conveniently timed with our annual refresh of the Padden Park Community Butterfly Garden (in its 3rd year), let's combine the effort and feature this work day.  Thanks to those members who were able to come out and work in the garden on Saturday.  Much was accomplished as we shed Covid year weeds and installed some new plantings in addition to those surviving the winter before.  Weeds were removed, about 45 cu ft of new mulch was installed along with member contributed plantings for 2022. Project Chair, Mary Onama, tells us there is more to be done to ready the Garden for the season, so stay tuned.  Also, enjoy some of the other Service Day activities from our sister clubs.

- USEFUL TIPS -

Technical Tip: Keep my gmail out of promotions
        But, It's NOT Spam.

Is some of your expected gmail missing from the Inbox?

Aside from regular spam filtering, sometimes Google also takes  a guess at your incoming gmail and pre-categorizes it in order to cut down on spam. The Tabs 'Social' and 'Promotions' capture some of your email instead.
Well, Google doesn't always get it right.

Fortunately, even though that is the default setting, you can change the setting and control your pre-categorization completely and get all your mail back in the old inbox.
YOU can select select the problem email in 'Promotions' and drag it to the inbox,  OR....
A more reliable way is to control your own categories  or  simply have none at all.  If you uncheck the 'Social" and 'Promotions' categories in settings, your future email will not appear in those virtual folders but rather in your old inbox as expected.

Here's what you do to fix it.
Go to your inbox settings link. https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#settings/inbox
Uncheck the boxes 'Social' and 'Promotions', AND CLICK SAVE
From now on it will appear in the old inbox as expected.
