DR. COLIN BURROWS, a visiting Rotarian from Florida, gave us a very interesting talk on a project his local Rotary Club has been involved with in India. The project goal is to eradicate rabies in the Goa area of India, a decease that is rampant and previously relatively un controlled. He described conditions with dogs, wild and family / community owned that spread rabies in an area short of the medicines needed to prevent its deadly effects.
Dr. Burrows brings an extensive resume to the subject with a PH.D. in BVetMed,  several horrors, professorship in Veterinary Medicine at University of Florida, and past president of the World Small Animal Veterinary Association. It was thru that association that he became interested in the rabies problem in India, and started working with MISSION RABIES there to create a partnership with his club and get the necessary grant money from Rotary International and his local district.
Dr. Burrows showed a video of the work in Goa and detailed the process needed to complete in order to get the Rotary grants.
Thank you ,Colin for the excellent presentation.
