KYM RAMSEY NORRISTOWN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
Last Thursday, the Club welcomed Kym Ramsey from the Norristown Chamber of Commerce, and The Willow School. Kym was not only instrumental for the creation of the Norristown Chamber of Commerce, but also was the founder of the Willow School, sits on several Norristown area Boards of Directors, and is involved in many local organizations. She states that ROTARY was an important inspiration in her life growing up in a military family. When Kym arrived in Norristown, she began the work of creating the Willow School, and noted that there was no Chamber of Commerce here, so, along with a few others, set out to establish one . The Chamber started with 10 members and has grown to 115 today. Their Mission is to empower the Norristown business community and cultivate an environment where businesses can thrive. She outlined the history of the group which began in 2012 and gave us a look into their goals. The are working to redefine Norristown as unique destination by fostering destination locations around the community. They also strive to bring the whole community into the planning for the future.
