LISA BOBYOCK- Director- Keep Norristown Beautiful
On July 18, the Club welcomed LISA BOBYOCK from KEEP NORRISTOWN BEAUTIFUL to speak to our members. Lisa outlined the origin , initiatives, and the mission for the organization. Make Norristown Beautiful (MNB), was created in 2017 and is affiliated with the Make America Beautiful and uses their programs in their efforts to keep Norristown's litter problem under control. They use two major initiatives : the Adopt a Road program and the BigBelly Bins anti liter campaign.
Adopt A Road program encourages local groups and organizations to take on the responsibility of periodically cleaning up a street, vacant lot, or other small area of Norristown. The BigBelly Bins has organizations buy a large trash bin and put their advertising on it. These are placed in various locations around the city.
