NANCY VENNER- A STEP UP ACADEMY
Last Thursday, the Club welcomed NANCY VENNER, Director of Advancement for A STEP UP ACADEMY, an organization dedicated to providing an "Integrated Education for children with Autism" in a compassionate, child-led environment that features one-on-one teaching, adapted to the specific needs of the individual child. The school accepts all cases of children with Autism, including those with multiple other conditions that, in many other places, would not be accepted. They serve kids from pre-school through the age of 20, and have programs set up to prepare students for the world buy giving them the opportunity to work in community businesses as part of their formal education.
A Step Up Academy was founded in 2013, and Nancy has been with the them for several years and has seen it grow to where they now carry 67 students a year.
They have their annual fundraiser on August 24, and welcome all to attend. (see notice below)
