LAST WEEK

TWO NEW MEMBERS GIVE CLASSIFICATION TALKS

Last Thursday, new members KAREN DeANGELO and KELLY RICHARDSON gave their classification talks to the club via ZOOM.

KAREN DeANGELO is director of the Norristown Public Library, and upon hearing that she had to give a 'classification' talk decided to incorporate use of the Dewey Decimal Classification (System) in her talk, using decimal references to various points of interest as she told of her history. She is originally from New York near Albany, and graduated from State University of N Y Albany with a degree in Library Science and started her carrier as director of the Saratoga Library. She was there for 15 years before moving to Montco to be near grandchildren and accepting a position at the Norristown Library. Karen gave us a brief history of the library and spoke of a sizable grant that is being used to fund a focus group on the library's future and fund some much needed renovations. She is actively promoting the facility for use as a gathering place by community organizations.

KELLY RICHARDSON is Director of Community Relations at Brandywine Senior Living where she is able to live her" passion for people". Her parents cam to America from Ireland and she was brought up in Darby. She attended Millersville University majoring in Education with a minor in Political Science. She is a member of The Montco Professionals Network and has done volunteer work with The Montco Tech School. She got interested in our club after seeing the various community projects that we have been involved with and has joined in helping with projects since the day she joined. We certainly welcome her inputs to our projects.

We welcome both KAREN and KELLY to our club.

EACH ONE, BRING ONE Member Campaign Underway
EACH ONE, BRING ONE

President Sunanda has officially kicked off the  'Each One, Bring One'  member campaign.

Rotary Clubs need to continue to grow in order to enhance our ability to dedicate resources to solving a community or global issue.

This year, President Sunanda is asking every Club member to bring a visitor, spouse, family, friend or acquaintance to our meeting and introduce them to Rotary.

If everyone brought a guest it would double our meeting size, and if half of the visitors discovered Rotary and became a member, the club would grow by 50%.

Please think about it this week and identify someone you would like to introduce to Rotary. Bring them to a meeting and tell them why you joined.

Who will you bring ?

- USEFUL TIPS -

Technical Tip: Add a simple Club Calendar view  to your Phone
Technical Tip: Add the Club's calendar to your phone

It's easy to add this calendar view to your phone and access a simple calendar list view with one tap.

The calendar resides at this URL address, if you tap on the link below on your phone, you'll see the calendar.

You can then add it to your phone's Home screen.

(On the iPhone select the SHARE symbol [see red arrow], then scroll down and select 'Add to Home Screen')

Technical Tip: Keep my gmail out of promotions
        But, It's NOT Spam.

Is some of your expected gmail missing from the Inbox?

Aside from regular spam filtering, sometimes Google also takes  a guess at your incoming gmail and pre-categorizes it in order to cut down on spam. The Tabs 'Social' and 'Promotions' capture some of your email instead.
Well, Google doesn't always get it right.

Fortunately, even though that is the default setting, you can change the setting and control your pre-categorization completely and get all your mail back in the old inbox.
YOU can select select the problem email in 'Promotions' and drag it to the inbox,  OR....
A more reliable way is to control your own categories  or  simply have none at all.  If you uncheck the 'Social" and 'Promotions' categories in settings, your future email will not appear in those virtual folders but rather in your old inbox as expected.

Here's what you do to fix it.
Go to your inbox settings link. https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#settings/inbox
Uncheck the boxes 'Social' and 'Promotions', AND CLICK SAVE
From now on it will appear in the old inbox as expected.
