We are starting to plan for our fundraiser for the year, a Pancake Breakfast and Raffle tentatively planned for October 29.

Please let us know of your availability for this function as it takes full club participation to carry off an event of this size.

Please contact DAVE BEACH at dbeach04@gmail.com if you can help.

SERVICE ABOVE SELF

AN APPEAL FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT SUGGESTIONS

Suggestion:

I will share an opinion. We are lacking for 'opportunities to serve' offerings especially during the summer.  Yes it's vacation season but we can't shut down for the summer and expect people to wait until we reopen. There was a Fourth of July parade in town.  Not sure if the LaFors are planning anything at AAH.  If we don’t identify and facilitate new ideas, our club will definitely cease to remain vibrant and attractive to the many who are out there in our community, wondering how they can serve.

Maybe we should start a database of Service Project Brainstorming Ideas. Even if we can’t implement most of them or if it would be a duplication of effort, it’s useful to spawn other ideas..

They could be a collection of little idea clippings we see online or hear about from friends or other clubs even.  Capturing contact information or sources will help.

We will figure out a way we can catalog them on the G Drive online so the entire club can access them.  In the past, I have been an advocate for a Service Project coordinator or committee, not to run all of our projects (that's why we have chairs) but to schedule and facilitate them and identify new candidate projects.

We have had a number of potential member individuals this year, say they are interested in giving back time to support the community, if only Rotary can identify the project opportunities.

Until we get going, if you want to send me your ideas, I will be sure they get in the database list. Maybe it is something the club has done in the past that we stopped doing? These don't need to be expensive club investments, there are people out there simply needing help.

The Cashore Marionettes

Bringing Art to Life

A performance by the Cashore Marionettes is a celebration of life. The program consists of a collection of engaging pieces encompassing a broad range of themes, each delivered with a simplicity that expresses the essence of the moment.

Together We Empower (Bikes and Sewing Machines)
PEOPLE of ACTION - Each year Rotary works with Pedals for Progress® as we ship donated bikes & sewing machines to developing nations in Africa, South America, Asia and Europe. These bikes become family transportation where there are no automobiles. This new mobility means possible remote jobs and distant education 6-10 miles from home. And it keeps discarded bicycles out of our landfills.
call us (484) 994-2349. We pick up locally.

Your kindness and dedication to community service is exemplary.
Without your support, our Pedals for Progress global bicycle recycling program would not be possible.

- USEFUL TIPS -

Technical Tip: Keep my gmail out of promotions
        But, It's NOT Spam.

Is some of your expected gmail missing from the Inbox?

Aside from regular spam filtering, sometimes Google also takes  a guess at your incoming gmail and pre-categorizes it in order to cut down on spam. The Tabs 'Social' and 'Promotions' capture some of your email instead.
Well, Google doesn't always get it right.

Fortunately, even though that is the default setting, you can change the setting and control your pre-categorization completely and get all your mail back in the old inbox.
YOU can select select the problem email in 'Promotions' and drag it to the inbox,  OR....
A more reliable way is to control your own categories  or  simply have none at all.  If you uncheck the 'Social" and 'Promotions' categories in settings, your future email will not appear in those virtual folders but rather in your old inbox as expected.

Here's what you do to fix it.
Go to your inbox settings link. https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#settings/inbox
Uncheck the boxes 'Social' and 'Promotions', AND CLICK SAVE
From now on it will appear in the old inbox as expected.
